Luke Kite had his first car – a Hillman Minx – when he was ten, his first motor-bike, a Honda 125cc trials bike, when he was thirteen.
Since he and his mum and dad live on Forestry Commission land just above Lampeter he was able to learn his driving and riding skills off road and was an accomplished driver before he was in his teens.
Luke’s father, Trevor, is a mechanic, now retired, but still active on his own vehicles. Both Trevor and mother Pauline have creative & artistic flair. Trevor studied pencil drawing at Ruskin Hall in Birmingham, prior to a job in sign-writing. Luke remembers Pauline building dolls’ houses. Her creativity now goes mainly in to the delightful garden the Kites have wrested from the tree and bush covered scrubland which surrounds them.
